As the sole agency licensed by the State of New York to service ports and terminals along the Hudson River, The Hudson River Pilots Association provides 24 hour a day, 365 days a year service to the Port of Albany/ Rensselaer. No matter what your schedule, the Hudson River Pilots will make sure your vessel arrives in port for ordered labor starts and is ready to sail once cargo operations are complete.

 

The Hudson River Pilots can handle any type of vessel up to a maximum length of 750 feet (229 meters) with a maximum recommended beam of 110 feet (33.5 meters). The maximum draft to Albany is 31 feet (9.4 meters) salt water draft, with a maximum air draft of 135 feet (41 meters).

Recently, a Mid-River Pilot Station was established at Hyde Park, NY in an effort to provide safer, more efficient pilotage services to our customers.
